Default Weak coils?

Got a '93 longbed 2.3l and the front seems lower than it should be (more so than normal) and I can see an excessive amount of camber.

Are my coils slowly collapsing or am I just going crazy?

Haven't ever bottomed out but they do creak when it's cold and dampeners seem fine.

Old springs sag. it's the circle of life. If it looks like too much sag for you, invest the money, and get new parts.

Come to think of it, it's the same on women........

Here's a pic. The small tires don't help. I'm wanting to level it out and am trying to figure out if I should use washers or just get new springs.
The current tires are 195/70r14 and I want to go to 225/70r14 with leveling out (or at least bring the front up a little) to help clear the 225s.

ah, heck, thats not sagging that much, it just looks like it is since the back sets up so high. If you want to level it out, some coil spacers will work just fine for you.

Yeah, that's what I was thinkin' but wasn't sure. Hard to tell with the back end in the clouds and those tiny tires on there.

Any recomendation on spacers?

None, from me, I'm more in the business of dropping them than lifting them. You could always do a shackle flip to bring the back down to level though.........

I wouldn't mind bringing the back down. I feel like I need to cut a sunroof to look out.

ok here we go. youll need 8 3/8th by 1 inch bolts, 8 washers and 8 nylock nuts. and they NEED to be grade 8.

your leaf springs are attached to a the shackle, the shackle is bolted to the hanger. the hanger is RIVETED to the frame, one hanger per side of your truck. you can choose to take the bed off if you want, i did it and it made it a hell of alot easier. bed bolts use a t55 torx head, theres 6 of em, dont forget to undo the 3 bolts holding your gas filler neck to the bed (if you take the bed off).

jack the truck up,use some jackstands, block the wheels. start by unbolting your leaf from the shackle, or shackle from the hanger, its really your choice. once youve got the tension taken off the hanger, start grinding off the rivet heads, and using a punch or other slim metal object to knock the rest of the rivets out, be careful NOT to grind into your hanger.

once youve got it off (i did one side at a time), flip the hanger over (upside down) and resecure it with the hardware you purchased previously.then bolt the shackle back on to the leaf etc.

repeat this on side 2.

drink your beer, put the bed back on.

congratulations, youve just flipped your hangers

pix coming

bed off

un bolted vs flipped

and my truck compared to a 07 on 33's with a 4 inch superlift.
nose dive from mine was not intentional and has been corrected

That's it? Wow I'll have to do that as soon as I can. Does it matter if I've got single leafs and not leaf packs?
