Exclamation Balljoints or something else?

Hi there,I have a 98 ranger 2wd and Ive been noticing when driving slow or going over bumps i hear a clunk kind of noise, you can hear it and feel it a little bit in the steering wheel.Ive also noticed when going over speed bumps or anything it sounds like a chain hitting the ground(thats the best i can describe it) Im not sure if those two problems are related or not. Also to add the clunking noise sounds like its coming from the drivers side front. Thanks alot guys, any help would be greatly appreciated!!
