flipped ball joints?
used on late 90 and early 200 chevys to release pressure and gain .5 or so lift. by tang the ball joint and relocating it to the bottom of the arm. has anybody done this? are the ball joints bolted or riveted on?

Re: flipped ball joints?
most ball joints are pressed in, bad idea to "flip" them, they could work their way out, the rangers lower joints are pressed in to answer the bolt/rivet question and depending on what truck you have, i have a xlt coil sprung, the uppers on mine are also pressed

Re: flipped ball joints?
the uppers on the factory UCA arent able to be pressed out...have to buy a new control arm...why you would want to filp BJs is beyond me...

Re: flipped ball joints?
Bad Idea all together I think. Maybe for an off road toy were speed wont be a factor, but for DD use, way to risky to put yourslef or someone else in danger.
but fwiw, I have never heard of this idea until now.

Re: flipped ball joints?
well it sounds like i would work because they are passed in the uca instead of bolted tor riveted but on 1/2 tons it give more clearance and relieves pressure

Re: flipped ball joints?
so, is it that the knuckle is on top of the control arm with the ball joint facing up. And your talking place the knuckle on the bottom with the ball joint facing down?
I could see how this would work.
