Re: negative camber problem...help/opinions/sugestions
Get it looked at by a professional. I had a problem recently with my Ranger and minor front driver side cupping, and everything I read pointed to needing new shocks. My Ranger has 57,000 miles, and besides the steering wheel being slightly off center and an uncomfortable ride, everything else seemed fine. The mechanic said nothing in the suspension was bad (tie rods, ball joints, etc.), and he asked when I had my vehicle aligned. I knew that it had been within the last 3 - 4 months (which they commented was pretty recent), but I had them check anyway. As it turned out, the toe was pointing outward, and mostly on the left side. They realigned the vehicle, and now it rides straight as an arrow. I checked my records when I got home, and not only did the same shop perform the alignment in July, but it was just 5,200 miles ago.
