I have never heard of anyone doing it. I searched google and came up with some explorers and older broncos doing it

Anything is possible with enough time, fab skills, and money.

You have to ask yourself if its worth it.

And why do you hate leafs?

If you do manage to pull it off, kiss your towiing/payload capacities goodbye unless you do some MAJOR fabrication work - if that matters to you.

I'm also curious to hear why you hate leaf springs. I don't understand how you could even know that you hate them - since unless you've driven the newest Dodge Ram model, any pickup you ever may have driven has had rear leaf springs.

If it's built right you can put weight on them. I know the new Ram meets or exceeds the towing/payload numbers of the previous, leaf-sprung version.
That's all I know about rear coils - in other words...not much.

would this work, putting air ride bags on the axle that will be deflated when not hauling or towing, then inflating them when needed, the ride might be bad when loaded but you could run coils in the rear like that i would imagine

Don't know much about bags. Could they handle the weight of towing or a full box?

I've been meaning to take a look underneath a new Ram. I think next Sunday (when the dealerships are closed) I'll go and take a look to see how things are set up....

My dad has those on his F150 for his 26ft travel tailor. He airs them up and it brings it back to original ride height. The air valve is located by the license plate bulb.

ya, the ride would definatley not be nice, but if you only haul/tow a couple times a year, i dont see why it wouldnt work. ive read that pre runners that have 4 link setup still tow, they just ride on their bumpstops the whole time lol

you could replaced the rear leafs for springs. but like chainfire said with time and money. there are a lot of four link setups out there that could work and you could install air bags instead of coils and haul whatever you wanted and ride at any height you wanted but with money, time and fab
