My 03 4.0 ranger needs shocks, but i dont have money for some blisteins or similars, so im looking where and what to buy cheap, nice name brand shocks, can you help me?

I live in mexico, right across the border, the streets suck, too much pot holes its like off roading every day!

What did the local auto parts store tell you? I got OEM-like replacements for ~15 bucks a pair.

well, i cross the border every day, i went to autozone in san diego and they have some Gabriel shocks for 34 bucks, i didnt buy them, then a friendo told me about this website rockauto.com and found some monroe shocks for 15 dlls what do you say about that..?

monroes are good for the price, can't beat them. they're like the stock shocks on there now

I have had TERRIBLE luck with monroes. At least the bargain ones. I go with gabriel shockes. Spend the money and get the black ones. I think there the ultra's. Its worth it, if you buy some cheap ass shocks they will not hold up and fail and then youll be back and buying another set for $30. Then your in it for $60, might as well go with some beefier ones from the get-go

I went to buy some monroes, they were yellow. I could push them down with one hand effort-lessly. The gabriels are at least twice the diameter and just "feel" like a better shock

Also, the gabriel's have held up to plowing two years now. I think those are the ones to get

Shocks are not ment to give a resistance force the same way a spring is. It should not take very much force to move a spring slowly, but it should take more force to move it quickly.

I LOVE THEM!!!

being as my truck isnt offroaded hard alot i just went with stock replacement and i feel they do a great job for what i ask them to
