Default do i really need this?

hey guys, i am planning on buying this 3" body lift for my 91 4x4 ranger-

but it says that i need this shift extender--

do i really need this? i took the boot off today tho check it out and it looks like to me that i will still have clearance after putting 3" of lift on my truck. so if anyone has any advice id very much appreciate it.

it worked without it on my 1989 4x4, but I ended up extending it later with some pipe, a saw, and a welder

i owned a body lifted manual trans ranger without the extension and it sucked, i suggest getting the extender.

thanks. it is a manual trans. ill just play it safe and get the extender. is the installation hard?
