Naked girlfriend trying to replace radius arm bushing
Made you look.
I've done my wheel bearings and ball joints and now I need to delve into the world of bushings. The radius arm bushing on the driver's side is really bad, and the passenger's side isn't any better. What's it gonna take to replace this? Can anyone give me a link to a pictorial of the job? I've read about grinding 2 rivets on each side and replacing them with #8 bolts, blah blah. I need some insight.
Sorry about not having any naked chicks in this thread. I kicked my girl out a few months ago and she took all the good pics. HeyyyO!

Re: Naked girlfriend trying to replace radius arm bushing
How's that?
Now stop drooling and let's talk bushings. I'm going to have my truck aligned when I get done with all this suspension work. Are there any other bushings I should replace, like the ones on the tie rod, etc? I can really hear some clanks from the bad radius arm bushings.

Re: Naked girlfriend trying to replace radius arm bushing
If you have the $$ change em all. Better to know they are all good. But I would only really mess with ones that look damaged, or are worn to the point of making a lot of noise.

I should say that I'm doing this work with a friend who has a buttload of tools and experience (but not directly on Rangers) and we also have a guy just down the road who is a Ford tech if we get in too deep. So, money isn't a real issue, but I'm not gonna drop $200 on bushings either. More of a time and ability issue.

Yeah I can see that we're not going to get any work done here.

Re: Naked girlfriend trying to replace radius arm bushing
In all seriousness. As far as bushing go those the are worn or making a lot of noise should be replaced. Those that look good and are not an issue I would soak them with some silicone spray which will help them out so they will last longer.

I'm definetly going to replace the radius arm bushings on both sides. Tips, anyone? It's hard finding any info on how to do this. The last guy that asked this question here in the forums a few months ago got ignored.
