Default 1987 suspension/body lift advice or ideas

was hoping i could get some ideas to lift my 1987 ranger 4x4 about 2 inches, I am working on a budget though so i would need the cheapest way to do it right, any ideas? I was thinking about putting V-8 explorer coil springs on the front and an extra leaf in the back

a suspension lift will be cheap for your year like around 500 bucks

Hey, is your '87 stock suspension really rough? I put brand new shocks on my '88 and I still feel a hard impact on even the smallest of bumps in the road.. I don't know if this is the coil springs?

Anyway, I'm looking to change out my coil springs too if it will help. Keeping an eye on this thread.

my suspension isn't rough at all it has almost too much bounce to it if I'm off road then it is bouncing me all over the place, even going over speed bumps can be a pain

----------

I was also thinking i could put springs from a F150 or V8 explorer and add a leaf in the back, would that work? 500 bucks is still a lot of money

You can get spring spacers through Fat Bob's Garage or ebay and some aal's for around a hundred bucks for a 2-2.5in lift. both are pretty easy to install.

Just pick up some F150 coils, cheap as hell!

I have F350 coils i could cut you a deal on but shipping would probably be costlt but they are brand new.

i was think about my 86 suspension lift. i figured f150 coils for the front, and some drop shackles or explorer leafs in the rear. anything over 3" lift for me i was considering saving up for a BDS kit

F150 coils net almot 3.5 inches of lift. He wants 2 inches. Get coils from rough country (leveling coils). For the rear, go to a junkyard, find an 80-96 F150 2WD and steal the blocks from the rear (they use 2.5 inch springs and the block's an inch taller than the stock ranger ones) You're looking at 145 for the coils, $40 for the new u-bolts in the rear, maybe $10 for the blocks, and $80 for an alignment. Totalling $275 for a 2 inch lift.
