Default Lifting Issues

Ok so I just put 31x10.5x15 wheels n tires on my 01' Edge. Had to remove the Valance and the front two flares and crank up my torsion bars.. but now as you can see, the bushings between the control arm and the frame have a 1" gap on both sides. I figure I may have to buy new control arms maybe? Or can i just buy new, bigger bushings? Any help to solve this problem quick n cheap would be appreciated. Thanks Guys.

that's not a bushing, it's a bump stop. it's what protects your frame from when your suspension fully compresses, and cushions the final inch or whatever of suspension movement. since you cranked the t-bars, your suspension is higher so it is no longer riding on the bump stops.

also, i'm surprised you had to make any mods to put worn out 31s on your ranger, 32s usually fit stock.

As said above, just a bump stop, it is fine. But I too am really surprised you had to remove flares and valance. I put 32s on mine without a problem...

Oh ok.. as I got to looking I figured It wasnt a big problem. But as far as having to take the valance and flares off I absolutely had to. I couldn't turn all the way when I pit the 31s on. It rub the inside of the wheel well bad. But thanks for the advice gentlemen.

hmm weird on the rubbing, we have the same truck and now the same size tires. from the pic yours does seem kinda low but still very strange they didnt fit, maybe the previous owner turned the t-bars down to lower it.

you should be able to just trim the inner fender and it will stop rubbing if the t bar cranked did not stop it for ya.
