Default Air Shock Conversion vs. Coilover

I was reading up on coilover conversions and such when I came across air shocks.
My main question is instead of using coilovers could you get away with using the airshocks. It looks like the only difference is that the airshocks don't have a coilspring.
One of my main concerns with this is that I will likely burn through a lot of money with the conversion (if I do it) and I would probably wait to lift the truck when my funds build back up. with coil overs i assume I could just upgrade the springs or do spacers but with the air shocks it looks like I would have to buy new shocks? any truth to my thoughts? Oh and what about new control arms or whatever they are called?

anyways I hope someone could shed some light on this since I did a quick search and didn't come across anything.

Thanks

this is what i mean with the airshocks

Airshock- A shock that you can adjust the amount of pressure that is applied still needing a coil or a link setup Coil over its a coil with a shock combined as one. If your gunna spend the money get thecoilovers

x2 on the coilovers. I plan on doing this here pretty soon. If you plan on lifting you should wait till then cause its not gonna be cheap.
