Where's the mystery? As soon as your wheels grabbed traction your engine discovered it had work to do.

Advance Trak systems came out in 2008 for certain models (mostly the extremely pricey ones). In 2009 Ford decided it would go into all vehicles just as soon as the D.O.T made it mandatory. 2010 model years and up, now have traction control systems. other manufacturers such as GM, Chrysler, Toyota etc. came out with traction controls systems in or around the 2007 models years and some others were a shade bit before that in 2006. Up until 2009/2010 models years, only select models had it. Now they all have traction control systems. I never heard of a 94 Ranger 2WD, 3.0 V6 having a limited slip rear differential axle set either. Not unless you swapped in a Mustang rear axle system that had posi traction.

i for one think TCS and all that other crap is stupid every single one of my vehicles has it either off or never had it from the factory.

1990 civic had nothing
2005 sunfire no ABS or TCS from factory
2005 Ranger no ABS after SAS no TCS
1999 cavvie ABS fuse pulled no TCS

every single one of them drives better in the snow with all of it off. the ice TCS may have saved my ass or it may have done what it did to my uncle and gun the car sending it into a pole. as for the 1994 no TCS. popping the clutch while driving hell it could be the motor going you ahole.
