Default Replacing leaf springs on a 97

I have a 97 Supercab 2WD ranger with a broken rear leaf spring. The middle of the 3 is broken on the back side of the axle and should be replaced. Instead of paying a shop to fix the leaf spring I am deciding to tackle the job myself. I am going to pick up a portable air compressor with about a 30g tank and an impact wrench. I am also going to stop by a local junk yard to pick up a new to me leaf spring.

I have 2 6 ton jack stands that I will put the frame of the truck on with both tires removed so I can get at things. I am also going to blast the U bolts on the axle with a good helping of WD40 before I start. This is the first time I have attempted to do this on a vehicle. Are there any special tricks I should know before starting this project? Will I need to get new U bolts?

take the bed off if possible, it makes it a lot easier. I had a broken leaf as well...I chose to change both w/ new springs for around 400 for springs, u-bolts, and Belltech 6400 shackles. Mine isn't a daily driver though...its a project '91 Ranger.

Skip the WD40 and use PB Blaster. Don't re-use the u-bolts, get new ones.

I reused my ubolts when I swapped leafs and my buddy still has the stock ones on his 93 when we made a bastard pack. For sure don't need the bed off took about an hr for each side on the 93 with everything stuck as hell.
