Default S.O.S suspension

Hello everyone,

I have a Ford Ranger 2003 (2300cc) and I have a little problem with the suspension, well actually, because its too high and the wheels are very big now, the engine seems to be powerless whenever I want to start moving or even worst on a steep road.
Would it be a problem with gearbox?

S.O.S

what motor do u have? what axle(s)? what size tires? you are going to have to re-gear the axle(s)

on average for every inch you increase in tire size you should get a tenth .10 more gear on the low side. exmpl. you have 3.08's with a 30 in. tire and go up to 35's, to get back to correct gearing you should find some 3.55's. hope that help's and it's not exact but it's close. Randy's ring and pinion has a caculator on the web site where all you do is punch the numbers in and it tells you what you need.

If you are running a 33-35in tire, i would run nothing less then a 4.56 gear 35+ 4.88 gear

Well....GEAR RATIO GEAR RATIO GEAR RATIO for one.

secondly, you have the 2.3L.....gearing for 33's should be about 4.88. If 35's, gearing should be about 5.13.

Yes....2.3L Duratech = 2261cc's(which is actually 2.26L...I did the math. lol.) 138ci too. lol.

MV117....make a thread and tell us about your truck....looks pretty darn big. Tell us your set up and whore the truck out via showing us a ton of pics of it.

The motor is fine, and will move those tires as well as any 3.0, but gearing, that needs to be changed.

Suggesting 5.13's for a street driven truck is going to over rev him on the highway. Go to randy's and enter your stats it will be exactly what you need per your rpm desired.

well is it a street driven truck? if so, id probably lower it a bit and put some smaller tires just for safetys sake,
i would regear though, definatley not the correct gear ratio right now
