i have a '91 2wd and i was wondering if it would benefit anything to put the newer a-arm style suspension underneath my truck instead of having the twin i-beam
1. is it stronger?
2. would the work be worth the end result?
3. will i get any lift out of it? (i want 2 in the front i have 3 in the rear)
4. will in handle any better?
5. will it have less or more wear on the tires?
any other information would be very helpful

From what Im thinking- 1-by the time you get everything cut from your truck and a-arm truck you would be better off doing a 4x4 conversion with via SAS. 2- its not worth the wast of money to "try" and convert it, if you want a arms trade your truck.

If you plan on wheeling your truck, do what blkranger said.

If not, but you still want a lift, drop brackets. If you can't find any for your truck as it sits now, then swap in a D35 front axle, and if you want 4x4, swap in the transfer case too.

well i am not looking for 4x4 so i guess i will just keep the twin i-beam and do a spring lift that's what everyone i have talked to about it says is best thanks

i would love to swap in a dana 35 axle but thats major money lol

Tell me about it. I picked up a D44 for my F100, and it's gonna be at least 2K to get it under the truck and functional. Then again, i'm rebuilding everything including the transfer case.

what i need is some 2wd f150 i beams. unless 4x4 ones will work to

OP- If you are wanting to get some lift look into the drop brackets as said above and also you can swap in some F-150 coils for a little bit of lift.

Mazda- Of your able to swap the beams in Im pretty sure you are going to have to adapt them to the ranger frame some how due to the mounting points, also you are foing to have a wider stance in the front due to them being from a fullsize truck Why are you wanting to swap in the F series beams I seen you said you wanted a 35 is this the only reason? Side note look at the Bronco 2 had a 35 in the front end after November of the 1990 production.
