It didn't need any shimming. The biggest problem is with the p-brake cable that mounts to the left forward spring hanger. After relocationg the hanger, there's no place to bolt it up.

Yes, it has a blown 5.0 although it didn't when these pictures were taken.

Well i tore into to it tonight.

0ne hanger halfway off
Then i realized.........................







The 4 front hanger bolts hold the 2 piece frame together
I dont have enough bolts to remount the hanger AND rebolt the frame back together

Ok. now i am attempting to put the springs in but now another problem. the front hanger bolt is about 13/16 but the chevy has approx 9/16 holes in the bushings.
I just ran to lowes for more hardware. Wish i knew that the spring eyes was smaller i would have gotten a drill but to open it up or something

Ok. My fix to having the chevy bushing being smaller than the original ranger one is.
Weld 2 grade 8 9/16" washers on the outside of the hanger.Weld a grade 8 9/16" washer and nut to the back side of the hanger. Then just thread a grade 8 9/16" bolt straight into the welded nut. This way the spring will be held tight in the hanger.

I did my swap a few years ago and I don't remember any major bolt problems. I believe that I reused the Ranger hardware in the Chevy springs. Mine was 2003 though.
