Default Bilstein or Monroe Sensa Trac

do any of you all that have the bilsteins think they are alil too soft and bouncy? mine do great on big bumps n washboard roads but for regular driving and highway they may be just a tad to soft for me. Anyone else notice it or is it just them being a soft shock?

also anyone like the sensa tracs? i want them to be better than stock obviously over the bigger bumps n washboard roads but maybe jus a tad firmer for regular driving

I only have experience with Bilstein HD on my SUV, they have a 20% stiffer rate than standard shocks.

Monroe shocks are junk. Go with Bilstein or Rancho shocks.

I highly advise against getting rancho shocks. I used to have them on all 4 corners. Shock bodies started to rust within a year of having them on the truck. They ride very rough. When I lived in Oklahoma, I ended up having to swap my rear ranchos for edelbrocks due to all the dirt roads down there.

Turd: how come you still have ranchos up front then? and how do you like the edelbrocks in the rear?

Go with bilstein 5100s. Awsome ride, but pricey ($80+/shock)

I agree with Turd on the rough ride and the rust on the Rancho RSX shocks. My Rancho RSX shocks definitely ride rougher than stock, I'm not sure how they compare to the Blisteins though. I've had the shocks on my truck for over 5 years now and the shock bodies are all rusted - I just didn't know if it was due to my wheeling in areas with acidic water or not. Although rusted, they've held up well to my punishment on the trails.

so do you like the ride they give? I assume so beens youve had em on for so long?

and brinker for my truck the only bilsteins that you can get are the bilstein hd's which I have on the front thta I think are just a tad to soft. Bilstein 5100's are for the superlift trucks of my year.

Yeah, I've got no problem with the ride. They're not so stiff that they effect your driving ability, and they don't make you uncomfortable inside the truck either.

im thinking about the rancho9000xl which is fully adjustable but its almost 500 dollers ahhhhhhh. But I was going to spend alil over 300 on the bilsteins so maybe its worth the extra 150 for fully adjustable? idk

If you're really picky about your ride, go for it. I could care less how they feel, just as long as they work.

By the way, I'm pretty sure that I've read Monroe makes Rancho shocks. You may want to look into that if they have a less expensive - adjustable shock. I just put Monroe shocks on my wife's Jeep Liberty and they ride fine.

I realize its a truck, its not going to rude amazing and great. BUT with it being my DD and knowing how it rode with stock shocks, then after dropped abunch of money for new bilsteins and then not liking the ride, that doesnt sit well with me u know. They do their job well, just not for me but around here I need a stiffer shock for the bad back roads and highways we have. Just if I spent 315 for bilsteins, I might as well sell em, someone get a good deal and just spend alil more money and be able to make however I want whenever. Atleast I figure that would be the smart thing to do if im going to be picky about it.
