Default coil spring help

a buddy of mine wants to put a set of 3" lift coils in the front of a '06 2 wheel drive ranger with the 4.0 in it...here's a link to what he's looking at.

RANGER 3" LIFT KIT SPRINGS 98 99 00 01 03 04 05 06 07:eBay Motors (item 360135745583 end time Sep-27-09 18:12:55 PDT)

can someone settle our arguement that he will have to get the alingment cams and have the truck lined up after the install. he's being a pe@#$%head and trying to tell me since it's pushing straight down you won't have to line it up?

you COULD get away with out doing an alignment but i'd bet he'd mess up his tires quick. cause i dunno how the 98+ rangers suspension works, but 97 and older with the TTB, any lift over 2" ya have to have drop brackets with the lift, AND ya better get new camber bushings that allow for more room to align it right. I think mine give an extra 2 degrees either way, and thats the most you can get. but just tell him if its pushing straight down he'd better drop the point where its pushing from(i.e. the pivot point) which is why ya need those drop brackets on TTB.

but alas, stupid is as stupid does haha... let him learn the hard way if needs be.

anything over 2.5" you need to put new upper control arms in to align it back to factory spec and not have the control arm smash against the frame.

well the problem will arise when he goes over a pothole on the control hits coil bucket, it could be damaged or possibly break in that situation. does he know about this possibility?
