I raised my torsion bars 3 inches back in 2001. I did it while the truck was on the ground. I didn't have any "issues" with the suspension afterwards. Just remember to get an alignment afterwards.

Can someone tell me if I would have to buy new keys for this to work on my truck. One of the other guys on here said,
"I am pretty sure on the newer trucks like yours its not as simple as going out and turning the bolts. I think you have to get new keys on yours". Is this right?

Thanks for your help.
I had mine cranked for almost 3 years now, I replaced 1 ball joint so far due to my own stupidity, I replaced 1 axle just due to a small tear in the boot. my truck has almost 108,000 miles on it, I wouldnt really attribute this to my torsion bars being cranked.

some trucks arent "perfectly leveled" therefore the torsion bars will not be cranked the same, so if your torsion bolts werent the same to begin with you may not even be able to crank them properly

I think thats what going on with my truck, the torsion bolt isn't long enough, therefore when I try to crank them the bolt goes as far as it can go and the truck didn't go up at all

How is the ride on the Truxx Leveling kit. Is it a factory ride or is it different ride.

OP what were you using to crank the torsion bars, i.e socket and 12 inch breaker bar. longer breaker bar or shorter or what? Honestly the first time I did it I couldnt get mine to move at all, even sprayed the bolts down with pb blaster and even thought I stripped my passenger side bolt. Went and bolt a new bolt n then acouple weeks later I went to put the new bolt in and was able to grip n turn it. Long story short I have cranked n decranked my bars acouple times and still havent installed the new bolt lol. Idk weird how things work out but try using some pb blaster or something like that for a couple days then atleast try with a socket n 12 inch breaker bar.

I'm probably just going to buy the leveling kit made by TRUXX, you can find them at www.rockymountainsusp.com for about $170 ish

that really makes no sense when you have stock torsion bars lol. Just crank your torsion bars, they are prolly stiff as hell from never being turned for years. im agine how other bolts get you know. Spray it down with some pb blaster or something to loosen up over and over for acouple days. Then hit on em alil just to help loose but not to hard, then lift the front off the ground, take ya a 1/2 drive rachet n socket and turn them bad boys. Really that simple, and once it works you'll feel so retarded for it all lol

how many miles are on your truck? theres no reason they shouldnt have lifted up atleast alil bit when maxxing out the bolts. I still cant even think your bars are that shot even if you have alot of miles. You can get #1 bars and install those in place of your bars which will def help. But again I do NOT recommend adding those keys, again I said NO I dont recommend you doin it. But it is your truck and you can do w.e you want with it.

I figured it out, The guy who had the truck b4 me put the wrong size shock on the truck, they weren't long enough. So i unbolted them from the a-arm and I got the truck up about and inch, It looks good!!
