Default Lift Or Lower?

I have a 2005 Ford Ranger XL 2wd. Whats the best option? I had a 94 at one point and had it dropped and i loved it 9 years ago but there was some things i disliked. I have the 2005 now and not sure what to do. Thinking a 3" bl with some 31s. I wanted to lower but now i am thinking differently. Tell me what you think. Thanks

If you go with a 3in BL run 33's on another note though im running 31s (stock) and Im in the same boat I like the way it sits yet Im torn about wanting to bag it. Its all up to you I got the 31s to see how well I like it then I will drop it (using a flip kit and springs no bags then) in the long run it will end up the way I like best.

I'm in the same boat bro, so many pros and cons to both.

Idk what to do either, lift or lower.

I was dead set on lowering but i have seen pics of lifts and like it. I dont want to go to extreme but maybe some off-roading. I have family in florida and the kick it off-road quite a bit. If i lift it then i want to find a good all terrain tire that wont really wear tremendously on road if there is one.

i MAY offend some of you lifted 2WD guys (STL hahaha) but my analogy of a Lifted 2WD truck is:

I speak truth...lol. Sure it may LOOK badass, but ultimatly that lift does nothing for you if you cant actually go 4x4ing.

of course it could be my jealousy of not having a lift talking haha

with that being said, i still say lift it and 31s because i like that better than lowered trucks

unless you got "limited slip" which is pretty much as good as 4x4. my dad has a 4x4 jeep and i make it thrw crap when he is in 2wd and then he has to go 4x4 when im still in 2wd. just personal opinion. i can c what u meen tho.

it depends on the condition of the roads where you live. you dont want a lowered truck somewhere where you dodge the pot wholes there are so many. just throw some 31s on ther itll look fine and be better than a stupid lowered truck. you lower cars lift trucks.

Hey guys I am new to this website, do you guys know where I can go to look at pics of Rangers that are lifted...I just purchased a Ranger 4x4 and want it jacked up. Also the brush guards Ive been looking at none of them go across the front like on the Toyota Tacomas, does anybody know where I can find a brush guard for the whole front, instead of just the little brush guards that cover the license plate area... Thanks guys,

ya i say lift it!
Oh an Dixie_Boysles there is a lot of people that lift a 4wd and don't wheel it anyways so it doesn't matter much... just a nice look
there is to much that can break while off roading that the risk just isn't worth it for many people that use there truck as a daily driver but they still want the look of a lifted truck
... oh and then theres the people that feel its not worth off roading in there 4x4 because it takes them a day to take apart the truck and wash it after LOL!!! just playin' man
