Default Right Front Wheel Bearing ?????

Have a grinding type noise coming from right front side of my 2000 Ranger XLT 4X4. I have jacked up truck and can here same noise while spinning tire. Can the wheel bearing being pulled and repacked or do I have to replace the whole hub assembly.

Are you sure that it isn't the brake?
If the bearing is bad, with the weight off that axle. There will be some play/wobble in the tire if you grab it at the top & bottom of wheel & try to wiggle tire.

Found the problem. It was the dust shield on the back of the rotor that was all rusted and just hanging, rubbing the inside of the rotor. I guess that is all from 10 years of Pennsylvania winters and road salt.

greatings from northwestern,pa.
i can test to the pa winters. you need to keep that salt hosed out from every nook and cranny under that truck. my 2004 looks like new yet and is hosed out twice a week during the winter months.

You got that right. Purchased this 2000 as a work truck so all damage done from previous owner(s). My 08 Tacoma has seen little salt thus far. I keep that one spotless.
