Size of a stock sway bar?
Does anyone know the size of the Sway bar on the front of a 2001 XLT 4x4? Im buying some new bushings but not sure what size to get.

Re: Size of a stock sway bar?
98+ 4x4 = 1.14"
98+ 4x2 = 1.06"

You have a 4x4, so it should have come from the factory with a 1.14" bar. The 1 1/8" bushings translate to 1.125" which is definitely a lot closer to 1.14" than the 1" bushings are.

Re: Size of a stock sway bar?
But wouldn't where ever you're buying them be able to look up the correct size ?
You may be able to get these ordered from your nearest NAPA store. Just read that in another Ford forum. Notice the grease-able ones..with a grease fitting. I've got a new set of front and rear sway bars. I haven't put them on yet..will wait for spring now. Think I'll see if I can get ones like this.

It tells you how to measure and pick from the list. Quickly looking I think you can get what you need with the grease fitting. A pain it is not to have that. Easy to grease them whenever if they have a fitting.
