Default Ford Ranger 4x4 1996 problem left front wheel noise?

My left front wheel is acting crazy sometimes it works perfect sometimes it spins bangs grinds clanks. After taking it out of 4x4 hi and backing up to disengage the hubs ( like the book recommends) I can drive all day around the city or where ever at speeds up 70 mph and when i come to make a turn at about 10 mph or so it just like something is trying to engage or disengage usually when I TURN.I took some video with sound so I can get an expert opinion from a 4x4 proffesional. This is a 1996 ford ranger 4.0L 4X4 auto with over drive.( I am not interested in MANUAL HUBS ) I just want to know what is currently wrong with my truck so i can fix it,

Sounds like the hub locking sleeve is not retracting completely so the ends of the splines are grinding each other. Are the hub locks vacuum actuated or is there a cable or lever controlling them? If vaccum, check the hoses. If mechanical, can it be adjusted?

I found a good overview article on these here:

"Servicing Locking and Automatic Hubs"
