i'm having my 2001 ranger safetied in order to sell it but got a quote for over $1000. the mechanic said i need an inner tie rod end, both lower ball joints and both upper control arms. i can see the need to replace the ball joints but the mechanic said you have to replace the control arms at the same time. is this true or am i getting rooked?

that is true. if you are near me I do then for about $200 plus parts, maybe you can find a buddy near you
