Default control arm bushing replacement

If I want to replace the control arm bushing(upper) can I loosen the ball joint to take the arm out and replace the same ball joint?

In theory you could but I don't remember just seeing an upper ball joint by itself, only the whole control arm.

upper arm is an assembly.
lower arm different story. you can prss out the old ball joint and press in a new one. not sure about the bushings on the lower.
Only replacements that come with grease ports (you supply the fitting) is moog.

I want to take the upper arm off only to replace the bushings. Can I reinstall the same arm and ball joint?

I believe that it's a bonded bushing. Molded in there.

I thought it was replaceable because it has a bolt running through it.

you can just change the bushings. I am doing it myself on a 2000 xlt one side already done. You need a press or fabricate one with a bottle jack and a stationary object to press 8n the new ones and you dont press it in all the way either or it wont fit
