Default Cut springs and leafs...

Hey guys, the truck I bought looked a tiny bit lower than normal and when I looked under there better today I noticed the springs up front and the rear leafs have been cut.
Is it hard to put the stock springs back up front?
Leafs I know won't be hard.

I'm wanting to put some bigger tires(30's or 31's).
The rear leafs, 2 were cut out.

Is that quite a bit of a drop on the rear?

Thanks guys!

Depends on your definition of hard.

The front lower ball joint and sway bar end link needs disconnected (you might have to cut the sway bar end link off). Make sure you have a jack handy to control the lower arm. Once it's dropped, pull out the spring.

The back spring bolts on the shackle and the front of the spring need to be pulled and the u-bolts holding the axle need pulled and replaced (U-bolts are a one time use item).

Theoretically that should be it. Get a repair manual and read it before you do the job. Look at your shakles and hangers, they might need replaced due to rust (better to do them now than later).

I was told I could use spring compressors to compress the springs and slips them out through the top?
Is that not possible or something?

If your suspension is like mine, I don't think there is enough room. The springs go in pretty deep where they mount both top and bottom.

Do you know how much it dropped my rear(approximately), when the previous owner cut out 2 of the leafs?

If it was similar to the broken leaf I had on the driver's side, about 2 inches.

yeah, that's what i figured.
I was looking under there last night and noticed there were no axle blocks at all.
Is that normal?
I thought they came with stock axle blocks?

Mine doesn't have blocks. The springs sit right on top of the axle.
