Replace Torsion Bars with Coilovers
I've got a 09 Ranger that I lifted with Superlift's 3-4" torsion bar lift. I got a good 3 1/2 " out of the lift, but I hate how low the bracketry hangs down - I've been caught up on it a couple times already. I'm looking into a (somewhat - under $2k) inexpensive alternative and I heard that coilover conversion is an option. Does anyone know anything about this as well as costs involved? I know that some older Rangers (and now the new Rangers) don't have Torsion bars at all - is it possible to get a hold of the suspension from one of these newer/older models and modify the coilovers to increase travel? I'm looking to keep the 33s I've got on but get 5-6 in" of suspension lift instead of the 3" superlift AND rid myself of the torsion bars. Thoughts?
