Rough ride in 94 ranger
ok, first off yes, I know it's a truck, I have always owned trucks and know what the ride should feel like (sort of). This is my first ford pick up, and I noticed the day I drove it home, that if I hit a bump going much faster then about 45 and I held the wheel pointing straight it would throw me into the other lane (kinda scary the first time), if I let the wheel "float" with the bump it will continue straight down the road. so I got it on the hoist and noticed bad wheel bearings up front, and a bad tie rod end on the left side (driver), drag link is good n' tight, ball joints felt good, still have all the bushings in the body and arms. The alignment is toe out by about 5/8'' not sure what factory spec call for, and I don't have the ability to measure camber and caster, but it LOOKS pretty straight up, taking it to a shop when I return home. for a full alignment. Even if the alignment is slightly out of whack ( I did replace a tie rod using the old one as a reference) what is causing me to get tossed across the highway? I can joust the suspension just fine in a parking lot, but it's like it won't budge at high speeds. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated.
