Question Suspension Gone Bad ?

How do you know when your suspension needs replacement ? All I know is the hand me down trick of seeing how long it bounces when you push on it. This trick is probably grossly inaccurate and misinformed. Any better ways to tell ? As always any help is greatly appreciated.

That trick just tests the condition of your shock absorbers. What is concerning you concerning your suspension? We need a bit more info to help you out.

It seems to me from his other post that his torsion bars are sagging. prolly the softer bars.
You'll prolly need to grab a set of #1 T-bars or whatever they are and replace the ones you have. It's an easy swap. The bars from the stealership aren't that expensive either. DONT DO LEVELING KITS!...or so they say around here

Yeah I am sorry for the lack of info I'm bad about that. The symptoms that make me think it is going bad are: 1. They already have a 100k of rough miles on them (80% of driving on unpaved rocky roads and snow) 2.The suspension sometimes will "hop" when going over a bump, this has increased over time. 3. front end sags and seems to be sagging more over time 4. the trick pushing it down yields up and down bouncing for about 15sec Any other info I can provide ? I can also hopefully get some pics of the sag, setup etc. if that would help

15 seconds of bouncing? That's crazy dude! You have to post a video of it bouncing for 15 secs.

15 seconds of bouncing sounds like a shock problem to me.

Hey yall, i just joined..my 1st post... i joined b/c my 01' needs new front suspension... but my problem sounds similar to this guy's...not the 15 sec bouncing.... but the saggy front end and now its leaning a little to the port side.... how hard is it to repace some shocks myself and is that all i need? I did some shopping around and seems like i can get some shocks for like 40$ each, + new hardware. am i setting myself up for a headache or is this a eazy repair?

Haha I'm a minute man myself but your truck bouncing for 15 seconds after pushing on it is absurd
