Default Have DJM 4/5 lowering kit, looking to maybe raise back up???

Ok, so I have a DJM 4/5 lowering kit on my 2002 Ford Ranger XLT 2wd. I eventually want to put air bags on it, but won't have the money for some time. So I was wondering how I can raise it back up maybe a few inches so that it is more driveable until I can get the money for airbags. Is there a way I can raise it back up some without putting stock upper and lower control arms on it and taking out the rear flip kit?

That's my question. I have stock shackles on now but I have a set of the djm shackles that will help raise the back a bit. Can I use stock springs and shocks with the djm lowering upper and lower control arms? Will the stock shocks still work in the back with the flip kit on it?

I think you will probably have to put the stock control arms back on because the stock springs wont fit in the DJM arms unless you've got a crazy massive spring compressor and even then I'd bet your spring rate would be all sorts of wacked. The DJM springs in the stock control arm will boost you up 2 inches and the shackles from DJM do the same for the rear.

And you can use stock shocks in the back if you use the DJM shackles.

My brother and several other folks have chosen to put on Belltech 6400 shackles on the back of their 4/5 trucks to make it a 4/4 by choosing the second from the bottom hole to mount the leaf to. That'll get you approx 3/4-1" lift in the back. Choose the bottom hole, it gives 1.5-2" lift. Belltech's have two usable holes to mount the shackles to which makes them a very good choice.

Dangerranger01's truck from this thread....

stupid question, but if a 4/5 isn't drivable, how will bags be better? When bagged properly, at ride height, you will still be lower then a 4/5 drop

just wondering

Every truck I see on YouTube ect with bags fully raised are higher than mine. I don't want my truck much lower than it is now when the air would be out. I don't want to have the frame on the ground. I want bags so I can have a better ride height so I can use the truck everyday. If that can't be done I will just raise it back up and forget about the whole lowrider thing then.

Well it is too much of a pain in the butt anyway so I am just going to leave it and lower the back a little more to make it level. It rubs alot on the front driver side and I would never be able to take it on the highway when I go to Philly. The guy he bought it from said it bottomed out over every overpass, and at 70+ MPH, no thanks. I have 245/45/17's on it at the moment and it rubs the upper wheel well.

Put a lift shackle in the rear and call it good it should only take you about a 1/2 hour to do.

well if I am going to keep it powered, which I am going to do now, I need to level the truck and lower the back 1 to 2 inches.
