Default Safe To Drive?

Hi,
I am wondering if this is dangerous to drive. Seems solid and I am not driving aggressively. What are your thoughts?
My neighbor, who is a worrier, said nope I wouldn't drive that. Intuitively I feel its fine.

Get under there with a hammer and beat around the rust if there is nothing solid there don't drive it. If there is solid metal have a patch welded on.

I'd be equally concerned about the areas around where the shocks mount, and the ears where the king pin attaches to the axle.

You don't mess around with steering. Those things can be replaced.
Is the rest of the frame in that kind of shape? If you have the ability to keep a donor vehicle around awhile, it might be a good idea to be looking for one. I've seen lots of ads in the Thrifty Nickel folks looking for a cheap donor

You probably should check your brake lines too, all the way around

You shouldn't drive that on a public road unless you have very high liability limits on your insurance.
