I own a 83 4x4 my passenger side wheel leans in on top and my 2.8 is getting tired . I decided to try and cure these problems. I was on offerup the other day and ran across a 94 in nice shape that I bought for $ 175 I have a sweet 92 f150 flair side 4x4 for a daily driver so I can take my time with this project. What I want to do first is swap the front end and steering and was wondering if anyone has done a similar swap? If so I need to know if I need to modify my front driveline or will I have to fabricate any new brackets to switch front axles and steering components? All the help and information I can get would be appreciated. My plans are to eventually swap out the 2.8 with the 4.0. That is a major undertaking in itself. I'm going to swap out the entire electrical and vacuum system and even the dash when I swap the motor, so I anticipate quite a few hours into this project to get it to work. If your wondering why not just drive the 94, it's because I love my 1st gen ranger I got a classic car license for it so I don't have to ever worry about paying that cost again. I pulled out the carpet put new sheet metal over the holes rusted in the floor sprayed it with under coating and topped that off with a heavy coat of bed liner put new carpet in , replaced the bench with buckets its a standard cab with a 7' bed and I love to rock while 4x4ing and there is no room for a sub so I removed the rear window and replaced it with a box I built that contains two 6x9s and a 12" dual voice coil sub. It sticks out the back of the cab about a foot so at the front of the bed I put a 2x12 across the top of the bed rails to cover the bed so it wouldn't leak water into it with a 6' aluminum canopy butted up to it. My truck is a reel rockin red ranger in more ways than one
