Default Grease boots

I've got about 45K miles on my '08. I'm trying to get ahead of any future failures. I assume the 11 year old grease in the boots of my tie rod ends or ball joints is drying out and no longer lubricating. Would it be worth using a syringe to inject fresh gease into the boots? I hate to create a new entry point for debris on the boots. Would a dab of silicone seal the hole if the boot was thoroughly cleaned? Thanks
