Default Are my springs bad?

Hey guys, I have an interesting one that I'm hoping you may be able to help me out with.

About a couple of months ago my truck started riding a little rough. I had hit a speedbump really hard (couldn't see it at night). I called the dealer but was told it wouldn't have seriously damaged anything. It almost felt like my tire wasn't round anymore, but the tire was and still is fine. I was trying to get some of my friend's opinions on what it might be, but nobody else was able to feel it. From the drivers seat it felt like it was mildly limping in the front passenger wheel. It was especially noticeable on freshly paved roads that should have been completely smooth,

The truck is a plain Jane 2011 XLT I bought from a carmax with 34K miles on it about 3 1/2 years ago. I figured the shocks were due for a change and I'd start there. I replaced all 4 and it rode a little bit smoother, but it still felt like it was limping and I could have sworn I could hear a little clunk when I went over bumps and down my driveway. I also checked out the bearings just to make sure they were all good and they were fine. My dad kind of convinced me that I'm looking for problems when there aren't any and that I might be expecting too smooth of a ride for a truck...

Well, today I was on my way to work (5 blocks from my house) and when I went down into the rain gutter dip while entering the intersection I heard a loud clank and had to pull over. I popped the engine and saw a washer and a rubber bushing just sitting there. I completely lost my shock clean off the front passenger wheel. I looked at the threads where the bottom of the shock bolts on and it looks like they may be stripped...

Did my truck come down so hard on the front passenger tire that it literally blew the shock out of the spring? Does this sound like bad springs? What do you think it could be?

Thanks!

It sounds to me like the person installing the shock got sidetracked and never finished the job. As to the feeling that it was "limping" I would jack up the front wheels and spin them while looking at the edge of the rim, on both sides of each wheel. You could have bent one of the rims which could explain the feeling.
