Default Alternate rear shocks for SuperLifted '00 Ranger

I have a 2000 Ranger with the 4" SuperLift on it and I want to switch out the SuperLift shocks in the rear with something that rides better. Ive heard rumors that Bilstein makes some that would work. Any info on the subject would be great!

Just watch the valving on the Bilstein, I have a pair on the rear of mine and they are kind of stiff. Great shock though just wish I got a different valving.

Are you running the 5125's? What valving are you using?

Just sent an email to Down South Motorsports. This is the response I got. Any thoughts? My rig may be lifted a little more than 4 inches in the back

This is what was recommended to me by a local shop.

Brand:Bilstein
Manufacturer's Part Number:33-185569

Extended Length (in): 29.700 in.
Collapsed Length (in): 17.910 in.

Notes: 255/70 valving, 11.94 in. travel.

I later found out these are also available in 170/60 too. Dont know if that would be too soft or not.

This on a SuperLifted truck? Do they ride better than the superlift ones?

This is on my truck. Never ran superlift shocks. These are stiff but doable.

What lift setup do you have in the back?

Do you have the stacked blocks that come with the superlift?

Yeah because I have Skykacker FR34S leaf springs right on the axle tube with belltech 6400 springs so idk if those shocks will be long enough

Don't see why they wouldn't work. I actually probably have more lift then you since I have a stock 2.5 inch block, AAL and 6400s.

OP, did you end up going with the bilsteins? Looking for some feedback on them in the 255/70 valving. I've seen a few comments, including Vista's, that they're a little stiff in that valving.

Didnt the info say they were 10 way adj? my assumption is the valving should control fluid flow but even on lower setting they're still too stiff? Whats the spring rate on the coils and the leafs?

Softer springs would be more acceptable options depending on load-out and vehicle weight and then the stiffer shocks would be there for control factors of the ride, NOT the ride if that makes sense.
