Default Bilsteins for a 3.0 flex fuel

My Ranger is a 99 4x4 with a 3.0. The shocks are blown and in trying to order some new ones on 4WP they told me Bilstein 4600's were not made for my truck. I found that very odd and asked him to check for a different engine size and boom he found them. I then checked the Bilstein website and same scenario. My question is, has anyone else ran into this problem? Has anyone put 4600's on a 3.0 with success? Why would there be no shock made by Bilstein for such a common truck?

I ordered the shocks anyways but if I've made a mistake and need to get something else before install maybe I could be steered in the proper direction.

Thanks ahead of time for your input!

Engine size should have little to do with it. The newer FX4 trucks came with Blistens from the factory. Basically, if the shocks fit a 98-2007 4wd truck (or 2wd Edge/Sport) you should be good to go.
