Default Bump Stops on Stock 2.5" Lift Blocks

I'm considering replacing my stock lift block with a 1" or 1.5" or maybe even going with lift shackles so I can lower the front end of the ranger a bit. As I don't wheel at all nor do I carry super heavy loads, would it be necessary to keep the stock blocks with their built in bump stops?

Also, if anyone can comment on ride quality going from lift blocks to shackles that would be appreciated. I know it's just a ranger but let me dream.

So in my chase for the perfect ride quality ive found in the end it really just comes down to the spring and shock combo. You could take out the block no problem. You could add an OEM block from an 08+. I believe those are 1.5 blocks. You could also get rid of the AAL and throw in a shackle.

The rear end has a bunch of options.

Thanks for the input vista. Think I'm going to start with swapping out for 08+ blocks and uncrank the tbars up front a bit. The truck feels like it has zero down travel and on long trips that gets pretty rough, lol.

Forgot to add: I have the Rancho XL9000s or whatever they're called so I have quite a range of options to match spring rates. I think my biggest problem is my down travel up front.

Basically with your bars maxxed you have hardly no travel what so ever. You should notice a difference if you decrank them an inch or more.

When i finally got off my high horse as making my truck as tall as I could and started worrying about suspension geometry my ride got tons better.

It sounds like you are on the right track though.

Yeah, my high-as-I-can-go days are over until I can afford to really start dumping money into this thing.
