Default Yes This is another will they fit question!

Yes this is another will they fit question but, its not your Typical Question

my Gen 3 was totaled and I bought a 03 ranger, 2wd, xl 2.3l 5 spd
I put my 15" crager rims, and 30x9.5 bfg's on there and sold the stock rims n tires, just for well, to give the truck a nice stance, well...now ive got the lowering bug

Im wanting to go 2/3 to start out, till I save up time to buy new tires to throw on cragers as winter beaters, and buy some nice rims, for when i go 4/5

But CAN I squeeze a 30x9.5 bfg a/t...which truely measures at like 29.1 " tall

Under a 2/3 drop, It Seems as if theres enough room, but I wanted to ask the people on here and see what they said!

If 30x9.5 is MAX for a stock truck, what will lowering it down closer to the earth do? Common sense would come in good in about now...

Um Not trying to Stomp your Toes here fx4wannabe, I know you've been around a while and all but 30x9.5 is max for a GEN 3 93-97 ranger
and even then thats fishy as I was able to run 31's and another member we all know well was able to run 32's

the 03 rangers max size stock that im aware of is 31x10.50's Possibly even 32's with the correct back spacing on a rim, I Really do believe I could go down 2 inches in the front, and still run the tires, I was looking for someone to back up my Theory, not just spat out a quick answer of What do you think with Common Sense, ..... common Sense says I have well over 2" of clearance between my tire, and where the fender starts, and to add to it, my wheels are Tucked IN under the fender Lip, Essentially It SHOULD work.

LOL. You made me chuckle.

You are aware that your suspension travels up and down while you're driving down the road right? Measure the gap between your front inner fender and the tire....take away 2". You need at least a 3" gap between the two for it to be road worthy. You also need to measure the clearences with the wheels turned.

I'm looking at this pic....picturing it dropped 2/3. I can tell you that you WILL rub inner fender up front while turning and you may rub inner bedside if the bed had a load. Whatever...ain't my truck...ain't my tires...ain't my problem. I prefer to clear tires instead of stuff the shit out of them. Essencially what you're wanting to do is stuff 35's on a stock 4x4. Same principle.

So your telling me a truck with a 4/5 and the exact same rim
can run a 225/70 bfg radial which is effectivly a 27x9 tire Without rubbing

yet on a 2/3 drop I cant run a 29x9.5 tire?

Even so theres a One Guy I can think of running a 225/70 on a 5/7 drop with minimal rubbing, only on Large Bumps?

Generally the suggested tire for a 4/5'd truck is about 26" tops. 245/45r17...whatever that computes to in standard sizes. [edit: 25.7 x 9.6]

I don't believe one second that there's a 5/7'd 98+ coilspring truck that's running a 225/70r15(27.4 x 8.9). Hell, 4/5'd guys have hard time with that tire....even light 4 bangers. I think I would know! My brother's winter tires on his '01 4/5'd truck are 225/70r15's and they scuff inner fender at full crank and off angle parking lot pull-in/outs.

I think you can run those 30's on a 2/3, but it wont be fun and will look retarded. When's the rest of that rattle can coming out that you used on the bumper and grille, but this time on the taillights?

lol that a stab at my nightshade job on my gen 3?

I didnt go as dark this time...Oh and just for proof

5/7 225/70

......everyone on rps teases him about Drossing his truck lol
Supposedly only scuffs on large bumps while turning....

though I Will agree that truck is a little over stuffed for my liking....he does daily drive it...
