Default How to install gas shocks

Sorry I'm not posting how to as in I'm telling you how to,...but rather how to as to install gas shocks like KYB Gas-A-Just...which unlike conventional shocks [can be moved lengthwise and stay there] fully extend if the nylon strap holding them mostly compressed is cut/removed [I haven't removed the straps]. I think for the rear I can do it,..judging by the feel of compressing them a little more with the straps staying on. But am not so sure about the fronts. I can jack the frame up at the front and have the lower A-arms as low as they will drop [haven't done that]...which may provide enough distance...but I won't know until I commit myself to doing it. Anyone know or have some advise? John
