Default Camber issues??

I have a 1997 Ford Ranger XLT 4WD 4.0l I am new to the world of trucks and Ford for that matter I have always had FWD cars. I installed a kit from skyjacker which included springs and shocks for the front to level it thats all I have done to the suspension.

I have noticed that when I am looking at my truck from the front it appears to be riding on the outside edge of the tire. I have had it aligned and the guy told me that was normal due to it having a "independant" style suspension set up with the axle. I can't seem to bring myelf to believe that because to me it doesn't look correct.

Can anyone PLEASE shed some light on this so I will whether I am over reacting or if there is in fact something wrong.

Have a shop install these and have them adjust it accordingly
