Leaf spring shackle and bracket replacement
So I have my 2000 ranger up on jack stands right now. Spent all day cutting and grinding the mangled mess that was left of my shackles and brackets. So I finally get it all off and cleaned up- the bushings for the new shackles don't go in. Very frustrating. Keep in mind the springs are still on the truck so I can't put it in a vise and hammer on it. What's my best option. I really don't want to go rent another ball joint press. Any help is appreciated. They are the correct bushings. How do I press them in. Redneck ingenuity is accepted. I'm from wv.

A cleverly positioned C-clamp might work.

1 bolt hand full of washers and a nut
screw the bolt down and the bushing will go in

what about polyurethane bushings? Has anyone done this on a 2000? Would these work?

Could be the same. I ordered mine from summit. No they work fine no issues been like 5 years.

File the hole of the leave a little if it's all full Of Rust.
