The Fat man sound (Noisy suspension)
I have no experience with suspension what so ever, so I figured why not learn. I got new tires about 2 weeks ago. The next day I heard a pop come from the suspension when I made a turn. I investigated the sound, found it is coming from only the driver side. I quickly noticed the Sway bar link (which had been rotting away over time) had finally given out, so I ordered a new one, installed it (simple) but the creeky fat man sound is still lingering. You know, the sound of when a 300lbs man gets in the driver seat, and the car sinks low and the creeky suspension noise can be heard. I've also noticed in the last few days my suspension just completely blows. Its noisy, old, worn. Truck moves like its tired. It hits a bump and jiggles everything in the cab.
I did my breaks today (first time) and I noticed that alot of the suspension just looks in poor shape. The truck has had no previous suspension work. I noticed that alot of the parts look warn (no rust). A large majority of the rubber pieces are completely worn away, broken, heavy damaged. So im thinking tomorrow to catalog what I need so I can place an order. Im not looking to put a lift on it, nor do I want to order a whole new stock suspension.
I just need a few pointers on maybe what to look for and where to look. I need to be very economic about this, I cant blow a huge amount of cash for this. But information is key, and I need it so help me out.
