I probably over-react, having had to help a step-son pay for a ranger trans that had oversize tires. I saw how minimal the inside of a ford factory trans is built and how it blew apart with a little extra tugginig around...

Yeah i'm gonna have ALOT more money in this truck than i ever intended, and Wayyy more than it'll ever be worth lol. I'm taking it to a trans shop tomorrow for a quote. Its got 161,800 miles on it so im just gonna have em check out the tranny anyway. I just want 32's , 33's would be the biggest i'd consider, but i'm going with 32's. And I have another question, which is better, all around suspension lift or spindle lift? And could somebody list the pros and cons of each?

Just out of curiosity could you ask them if oversize tires really put your tran in peril? I'd be interested in hearing their opinion...

A spindle lift is a suspension lift, it's the only type of suspension lift available for your truck.

Again please - take some time and look around (using the search feature) - this basic information is all over the place & you'll gain some handy knowledge when you do the research yourself.

Between Tom & myself - the links have been provided to get you all this information easily with a little effort.

Hint - There was a thread with information added into it today that was titled: "Good spindle lift brands???"

Of course larger tires wouldn't "help" the situation - but people have been lifting these truck for years & years, and it's not like it's an automatic certainty that it will "doom" them or anything in xxxx miles.

All sorts of guys have ran 35's & when not half-assed or slapped on - these baby trucks don't explode. haha

Sure, it will reduce the lifespan of anything like that - but it comes with the territory. Gotta pay to play!

Remember: We are only talking 32's or 33's here - Hell, certain Rangers came with 33's from the factory.

Yawwwnnnnn

32's are glorified passenger car tires.

Like I said - many Rangers came directly from Ford w/ 33's........

This isn't 'new' or 'groundbreaker'.

Like I said, a person will have increased 'wear & tear' if they go crazy with it - but it comes with the territory. Logical people understand this.

I like to consider my 'time served' around the Ranger community as my experience.

Plus - How's this for relevant experience on Rangers?

Quess we can take that as a no when it comes to trans.

btw - imho, thats a butt ugly truck, never liked black wheels. Now the red mustang is a different matter - sweet. You have a charger on it as well?

How so? I ask if he rebuilt trans and it seemed to me he said no, in a round about way - ? Then for some reason felt the need to post pics of his truck - ?

My apologies for the comment on the truck. Just that Im not a big fan of the black wheels but I understand if the younger guys like them. I looked at the link where the truck was built and it's a really nice job - Sorry for rocking the boat guys...
