Hey guys, im new with this whole part of cars. I just recently had a 2003 VW Gti 1.8t that was very quick with my mods i did to it. I had totaled it and im picking up my 2001 Ford Ranger XLT Supercab 4D 4.0 liter V6 4x4. The stock shocks on it now are rusty and the outside is falling off so i want to replace them. I dont know much about shocks for trucks but i will be replacing them myself because it seems fairly easy. If someone could help me find a good brand that arent too expensive but i want a smooth ride and something that will be able to handle weight in the back for welding and pipe fitting work (relatively heavy items) and preferably something that would work decent if i was to go off road but nothing serious. Thanks!

Bilsteins get great reviews. You can get 4 of them for about $250ish on eBay.
