im replacing these today, but i cant get the outer to spin freely off of the inner because the inner keeps spinning. so my question is, how do i wrench the outer tie rod end off of the inner without the inner spinning?

What was the solution?

You use a tool like this:

You place the "C" shaped piece that fits over the outer tie rod into the large open end of the pipe, then you place the end of a ratchet into the other end of that pipe and twist the pipe whole holding the inner tie rod with vise grips or crescent wrench.

i just used and adjustable to hold the inner from spinning, then backed off the bolt with a wrench and got it off. no need for that tool
