Default Squeaking noise from l/s front over bumps.

I noticed a couple days ago when pulling in to the driveway a squeak from the l/s front. I also notice it when going slow over uneven roads. Today at work I tried to reproduce the noise by bouncing the front of the truck up & down & was able to get the noise. If I put my hand on the upper control arm when it is making the noise I can feel it in the control arm. I am going to try & shoot the bushings with some silicone when the rain stops & everything dry's out & see if that does anything. The truck has 111500 mi & I do not know if anything has been replaced in the front suspension. Is it possible it is the upper ball joint?.

If you feel it in the control arm, it's either the ball joint or the bushings at the frame. Try your idea and lube up the parts in questions and see if the noise changes or goes away. Unfortunately the factory joints aren't servicable so if that's the issue, it's time to replace it.

Having just done this service a few weeks ago, I would recomend replacing the whole front end, as you'll need an alignment anyways. I did ball joints, control arms, sway bar links and tie rods for just over $100 and really it didn't take very long at all after I had all the right tools. First side took about 4 hours while I figured everything out, and the second took about 45 minutes. Alignment cost $59 and the front end was like-new.

Borrow a tie rod tool, adapter, and ball joint press from your local parts guy and other than a few select sockets, that's all you need.

The upper ball joints are usually pressed into the control arms in such a way that you just need to replace the whole arm. Do yourself a favor though and buy servicable parts if you plan on keeping the truck for any amount of time. You can get a whole kit off eBay for $115, which is what I did. You might be inclined to buy higher-quality parts, but for my purposes, they worked just fine!

Thanks for the response Trevor, I already ordered the upper control arms & lower ball joints from Rock Auto & I am going to order the hub & bearings.

To check either have a wheel jacked up, top and bottom of tire try to move. If it does move any then have assistance shoot it with video tgen review, then you can see which one is bad.
Good luck
