Default another tbar question

Just about to do the tbar crank when I read somewhere that depending on what shocks you have, you may get .5 inches of lift or 2 inches. Also may sag even worse over time. The door sticker has some code that will tell you what you have but mine is gone. I have the 2002 XLT 4x4 V6, it has only a year old new OEM shocks in the front that sort of helped out the sag but still needs more lift in the front. I would like to make the front even taller than the back if possible, but the main goal is just being even.

If anyone with the same truck as me did the tbar crank, I would like to know how much you did, and how much lift you got out of it.

and my final question because I never found this answer:
Do you need to lift the front end of the truck up in order to crank the tbar? Any known ill affects of keeping it on the ground and cranking?

Thanks for your answers

Shocks have nothing to do with holding the truck up.

Just go crank the damn things until they are level....its not a big deal.

Torsion bar type would determine the ability to resist sagging. If you want the front taller than what your current torsion bars can provide - then you could buy brand new #1 torsion bars and crank them.

It's a 12 year old truck, I'm sure your stock bars have sagged some. The new #1 bars would put you back to a higher starting point.

EDIT: I don't know what your current 'lift' consists of...but if you already used torsion keys (don't get me going)...you do NOT want to crank them anymore anyway....your truck will hate you for it.

I'm strictly just a body lift right now. I've only heard negative things about torsion keys so I never considered them.

So these should me to an even height with the back:

Eitherway, if all you are trying to do is get level with a factory back - then its a very minor deal...tons of people have done it.
