penetrating oil?
I've got some squeaks coming from my rear leaf springs that is getting louder and louder, and also from my bed mounts... can I just spray some WD-40 or penetrating oil in the areas for now, until I have time/money to replace some bushings and such? I thought I read on quite a few places that WD-40 or any penetrating oil tends to dry out parts after use, if that's the case is there anything else I can buy for now? Thanks

Re: penetrating oil?
Hi I would use white lithium, Silicone spray is good at getting into tight areas like house door hinges and lock cylinders, but it is a dry lubricant that won't offer much in the lasting lubing category. White lithium gets thicker over time and will offer a long lastion protective barrier. Just stress the springs to get it as far as you can get it and then wipe off excess. Good Luck.
Lithium is commonly used on automotive applications, door hinges, frame stress points, etc.

Re: penetrating oil?
If you use white lithium grease wear some old clothes or light colored clothes. It will never come off if you get some on you and it looks like a stain from a certain type of bodily fluid.
