If the radius arm snaps...
What would happen? the one on my passenger side is almost rusted through on the bottom. If it fails on the highway what would happen?

Re: If the radius arm snaps...
Damn, why are you still driving it?
The radius arm is the only thing holding your front axle in place. So if it fails, then that side of your front axle will fold back & go underneath your truck, taking with it the wheel and all. Yikes! It would head towards your transmission, cuz only 1 end of your front axle is held in place. What a mess it would make to the end that's still attached.
If I had to guess.... At speed, I guess it would flip over cuz forcing a 31" tall wheel underneath the cab would lift it up, big time!

Yes you do have a choice.
You are choosing to drive it risking your life and the lives of others on the road.
New:

or call around to junk yards. By the looks of it yours could go at any moment. Please stop driving it. (speaking as a funeral director)

I'm 25 year old college boy. I spent 1,050 for my lift kits. Tires, wheels, spindle, shackles, and getting it alignment. You can look around junkyard and pull some off and put it on your truck for cheap. You will lose your college when you total your truck. Just dont risk damage for your truck, your life, other people's life, and your college for just that little damage that can be replace right now.

If you have limit budget. Your best option is. Ride a bike, ask for ride(carpool), or buy a membership for a bus ride.

Re: If the radius arm snaps...
Go to a shop and explain your situation. I'm sure they would be alright with setting up a payment plan with you if it costs more then a few hundred to fix it.
If that snaps ( which it will if you hit a large enough bump) you will be looking at a hefty payment for fixing all the things you broke on your truck...and whoever else s car you hit haha.

X2.
Holy crap that thing looks like it's ready to snap at the next bump. Like others have said, when that thing goes, your whole truck is screwed, as well as you, and anyone who happens to be near you. If money is a concern, think how much more expensive it'll be when it breaks than to replace it now.

Re: If the radius arm snaps...
Ideally, it should have been addressed when those brand new shocks and lower shock studs were installed.
Was it a northern climate vehicle? South Carolina isn't known for having rust issues. Inspect your rear shackles and spring hangers as well as your cab mounts. Those are all typical rust problem areas of "rust belt" climate Rangers (MN, MI, WI, IL, IN, OH, IN, NY, etc).
LMC lists them at $130 for your 2wd. But I feel you can get a good used PAIR (yes, get a PAIR) for far far less than one brand new one.

Re: If the radius arm snaps...
Wow that is bad. idk what your waiting for lol. By the looks of it, I can break that with one good wack with a hammer, so a decent bump on the road will snap that.
I'm in college as well but that looks like something of priority, so I would divert beer and pizza money to fixing that ASAP.

Re: If the radius arm snaps...
alright so I'll definitely be buying new radius arms (both sides)... I also need new tires...Now that I realize it i got freakin scammed at the used car dealership. Shouldn't have paid 3500 for it, but i'm young and i overlook things often... but the engine and tranny are perfect.
What I don't understand is that the carfax has it listed as being registered in south carolina since it rolled off the lot in 1995 and the rust is that extensive. It's only the front end that's really bad, the back is in great shape barely any rust at all.
