Default Hints/tips for suspension lift install

Watcha.

I'm going to installing my 4" suspension lift this weekend. Any hints or tips from those who have done it before?

I'm more than happy, confidence wise, to do the work, just wanted to get a heads up on any potential hurdles I may encounter.

One thing I did want some clarification on is this part of the instal instructions

"Centerpunch and drill out the rivets in frame that hold radius arm pivot points. "

I've had a look, and can't see any rivets in this area, it's all bolted so I'm assuming I've got lucky! (93 2WD 2.3L Auto)

If yours is all bolts thats really good, i had rivets in a bunch of mine and me and two other friends had it done in about 6 hours and mines 4x4 so i would assume the 2wd wouldnt be as bad. Its all real simple if you have air tools and some pb blaster, make sure to use loctite on all the bolts i redid mine after a couple came loose.

I was dreading the rivet job, so I'm pretty stoked I don't have that to deal with.
I've got all the sprays and loctite etc all ready, just hoping this dry spell holds out!

Another thin i dont know how it is for a 2wd but for mine i had to get new camber bolts cause my tires had a horrible lean but that was a 30 minute fix and if i remember correct like $30, so that is one thing to look in to

From my understanding, from reading other threads in here, and speaking to the guys at Rough Country, my camber shouldn't be affected because the kit adjusts everything level.
Camber will need sorting if I were to just change the springs or use those spring spacer things.

In other news, those rivets I was slightly bragging about not having to deal with! I found them!!! There's only two to deal with, and they look straight forward enough. I don't have an air chisel so I'll either try drilling them out, or I'll carefully grind the heads down and punch them through.

Well thats good news less work on that end. I grinded o the heads and punched two of them out then got impatient and used a torch, its much quicker but a lot messier and got to be really careful

Made a start today. Damn I wish I had some air tools!!

I've got as far as removing the axle pivot bracket on the drivers side, but still need to drill out the remaining studs left behind after grinding the rivet heads off. (My drill decided to blow after I made a start on it all)

Not ideal, but I can only work with what I have to hand. I went out and spent a small fortune on some real fancy drill bits and a new drill, so tomorrow should be an easier affair.

Pain in the ass is an understatement.
